This morning I was checking a site that I visit frequently & someone asked about accents brought back a memory and gave me something to post.  *s*

I have lived in the deep South for quite some time...several years ago, I was talking to my beloved momma on the phone and she asked me why I was talking so funny. So, I guess it could be said that I definitely do have a southern accent but it just seems natural to me. I have a sister that lives in Arizona and her accent seems more pronounced than least to me.   lol

Good happy Sunday to you dear Chi!!
I'm trying to catch up on those who visited me yesterday before I begin ripping off more wallpaper. I'm almost halfway done in the 1st part of the room...then, on to the last section behind the other doorway!! Phew!!

Anyway, ya know how you have voices 'pictured in your mind' when you have online friends but never have heard them actually speak? Well, I just didn't have your voice "Southern". Isn't that odd? But, honestly, I'm sure you do have an accent of the Southern Belles!!

Mine would be who knows what? --Midwest, Southwest and now Southern. The only southern thing I've picked up so far is "Y'all"!! And I love to listen to 'TRUE' Texans speech.

Happy Sunday dear friend, and thanks for the congrats comment you left me.

Hm... I guess I have what's called "Stockholmska" since I lived here all my life :-)

We've a lot of accents here in sweden too, some of them I can't even understand...

Being an Okie, when I moved to WAshington, D.C. some people couldn't even understand some words that I was saying. Not only that...but the words I used for things were sometimes so different other people couldn't even figure out what I was talking about.

Actually, the word problem occurs intrastate as well with those of us with rural backgrounds vs. people from Tulsa & OKC.
