Remembering Jeffrey L. Fox

I am deeply honored to take part in D. C. Roe's 2996 Voices by remembering one of the victims of September 11, 2001.

Jeffrey L. Fox was a man who loved his family & friends and he loved to make people laugh. He lived in Cranbury, New Jersey and was the chief financial officer for the firm of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. The offices were located in the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center in New York.

In my mind, I envision him having a leisurely breakfast with his family and sharing love & laughter with them before heading to work on September 11, 2001....the day he became a hero to all of America. But I also can not help but wonder of the full extent of the loss....what contributions this young man would have made to our society, the impact of his steadfast guidance in the lives of his children as they grew into adulthood, the companionship and support he would have given his wife during their journey into old age together. These things were taken from him, his wife, his children and our world....forever changing the outcome his presence would have made. One can not help but feel that our world is a lesser place because of his absence.

Jeffrey L. Fox will forever live in our hearts. He will never be forgotten.

The original 2996 site is down but a list of other bloggers with tributes may be found here.

Oh, Chi - what a beautiful tribute to a man who lost his life providing for his family. Thank you for keeping his memory alive. I am sure his family is still missing him greatly...

You know, I have thought about the 9/11 attack all weekend... What if my life would end tomorrow? Did I tell the people around me, my family and friends how much I love them...I always make a point before leaving the home for work that my hubby and I kiss and tell each other "I love you"...You never know if you will return at night home...

Such a wonderful tribute. His family, friends and relatives would be happy to read this.
Opening sites with tribute makes my heart bleed and brings tears to my eyes as I see all these young people losing their lives to something beyond their control. These cruel people who caused the tragedy just didn't care about these innocent lives, lives with yet unfulfilled dreams, lives who may have been depended upon by their loved ones.
My sympathy goes to all the victims' family of these Sept. 11/2001 tragedy. My heart will always have a special place for all of you.

Yes, the World is a lesser place because of those fine folks who were taken from us.

May his family be at peace today while the anniversary of 9/11 passes.

You've put it so well. It's all the "what ifs" and "could have"s that are so tragic. All these lives snuffed out without reaching their natural completion.
What might have have been . . . but thank you for letting us know who he was.
