This N That

They say that wisdom comes with age but age, for me, has brought memory loss. As an example, last night, I was thinking about a song that my momma used to sing to us when we were kids....I'm sure a lot of you will know it & if you do, please fill in the (forgotten) words for me. *s* The song goes like this:

Do, a deer, a female deer
Ra, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to go
Sol, another name for sun
La, ( a memory loss for me!)
Ti, tea, ( a memory loss for me!)
Do, a deer, a female deer

On another note, my beautiful daughter will soon be celebrating a milestone birthday. She called me the other day to ask me what I was going to get her & when I said I hadn't yet thought about her gift, she was aghast! LOL I will, of course, buy her a nice gift but I thought it would be fun to get her a gag gift for such a special birthday...Did I mention memory loss? *grin* I can't seem to come up with any good ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since I knew this song from the Sound Of Music I googled that and found your missing words! They are:
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh)

It was one of my favorite sing alongs when I was young!

There are so many cute gag gifts out there, depending on her special age, try the hallmark card shops, they have lots of cute things.

Have a great day!

Well, looks like Debbie got the missing words...I wouldn't have be a great help anyway, because I have never heard this song...Must be my German background.
Regarding the 'gag gift'. Do you have a Spencer's in your mall? That is pretty much all they sell in that store...

Sometimes it's really difficult to come up with good gifts... We have the same problem, but a wedding gift.Quite stressed about it since the couple want to be surprised and have not made any wish list!

Well... I see Reverberate got the words for ya, so I don't have to mess with that! How old is your daughter going to be? I have one turning 30 in August - and she too is expecting GREAT things! I'm not quite sure what to do either! (but I'm sure I'll come up with sOmething!) I can't give her anything "teasing" about her age though - she is VERY sensitive on this issue!

Haha. Spencers, the best place in the world for a good laugh. Talk about a place to go if you want to bust a gut. I recently ventured to the one in our mall here, it's MASSIVE comparted to the one in knoxville's mall. That's probably where I'd recommend, but the place can be a shock the frist time around. They have alot of "odd" pranks".
Thank you again for reading my work. Chapter 4 should be up by tomorro wnoight. I'm starting to get into a timeline for writing, which will keep it coming. Chapter 4 brings a fun new character into the story as well. Keep me posted. Always loking for ideas and thoughts to add in.

...and what is the milestone birthday? 30?

You can always find something that is 'over the hill'.

Depends on what her age is tho. Gag gifts are the most fun to shop for, I love it.

DO tell when you find something.
