A Play On Words

In the sentence below, there is a word which means extreme dislike. Can you find it? *s*

I received the following advice from Auntie Pat: Thy hair is a fright...get it cut, girl!

My Letter is C

Here is how this meme works:

Write ten words beginning with the letter you’ve been given. Include an explanation of what each word means to you and why. If you want to play, ask for a letter in comments & I’ll post a letter for you in your blog. I got the letter "C" from Pink Chihuahua Princess.

1. Chi. I chose Chilady as my online name because I am owned by 3 darling chihuahuas. My friends shortened it to Chi & I like that even better. *s*

2. Catatonic. Please don't speak to me in the early morning hours before I've had time to put some caffeine in my system.

3. Colorful. Don't laugh too hard but I like to wear plaid knickers & tie-dyed tops but not together, I promise.

4. Caring. I care very deeply for my family, friends, and pets. Actually, I care about all animals.

5. Cheap. By that, I mean I am a cheapskate. I hate to spend my money. I have no problem spending hubby's though. *grin*

6. Chubby. Okay, I hate to admit that I could stand to lose a few pounds & probably would if I ecercised more.

7. Clumsy. I am outrageously awkward & unco-ordinated.

8. Comfortable. I like who I am and where I live very much.

9. Collector. I collect angels & music boxes.

10. Comical. Jokes that make people laugh are fun to tell.

A Special Birthday Remembered

Happy Birthday, Daddy...

Tonight I will sit outside & look up towards the heavens. With each twinkle, I will know in my heart that you & Momma are dancing the night away on the stars as the angels serenade you with beautiful music...and that you are both very happy to be reunited once again.

I love you both very much.

My Thoughts of Mother's Day

I believe that being a mother is the most wonderful role a woman can have. There is nothing more fulfilling or rewarding than that. My Momma must have instilled that in me as a child because she viewed motherhood the same way.

She put her heart & soul into caring for her family and friends...she was an amazing woman and I feel so lucky to be one of the 5 that calls her Momma.

There is nothing so painful or heartwrenching as losing your mother...your friend. Even though life must go on, it is a loss that you never, ever fully recover from. We lost our beloved Momma on May 25, 2004 and we still love & miss her so very much.

If you would like to learn more about who this wonderful woman was, please visit I Remember Momma. This link will take you to a poem that my brother wrote to honor her life.

American Justice

A man inadvertently started a fire in a nightclub which resulted in the loss of 100 lives. He agreed to plead guilty to 100 counts of manslaughter in the first degree on the condition that he be given a maximum of 15 years (10 years of actual prison time & 5 years probation).
Granted, he is extremely remorseful but I am thinking that one life has more value than that...much less 100 lives. What do you think?

Quiz Results

While visiting TNChick's blog the other day, I found a list of her quiz results & decided to take a few. *s* Here are my results...

How Quirky Are You?

My Quirk Factor: 48%
You're a pretty quirky person, but you're just normal enough to hide it.
Congratulations - you've fooled other people into thinking you're just like them!

What Do People Envy About You?

You have a kind heart and an unusual empathy for all living creatures. You tend to absorb others' happiness and pain. People envy your compassion, and more importantly, the connections it helps you build. And compassionate as you are, you feel for them.

What Type of Writer Should You Be?

You Should Be a Joke Writer.

You're totally hilarious, and you can find the humor in any situation.
Whether you're spouting off zingers, comebacks, or jokes about life...
You usually can keep a crowd laughing, and you have plenty of material.
You have the makings of a great comedian - or comedic writer.

See, Ms W...I was right:

How is Your Self Esteem?

You Have Low Self Esteem 68% of the Time.

You tend to blame yourself when things go wrong, regardless of whether it's your fault or not.
You're anxious to please others and rely too much on their opinions. Learn to please yourself first, and your confidence will soar.

I Really Like This Quote.

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.
